As Google focuses on greener computing, IBM says "let´s build a computer that can run the internet as an application". Google has been doing similar things in the past, but I haven´t heard them articulate such a big ambition.

So the easiest answer to shared folders for iPhoto on Mac is to hold down the option key (also shown as alt) when you start up iPhoto. You are then prompted for the location of your library and hey presto, it works!

TripIt looks good. You email bookings and schedules to a common email address and it works out what you are doing. I might try doing my Zermatt trip on it retrospectively to see how good it is at non-standard stuff.

It looks like you can read the whole of the Economist Xmas issue online. I didn´t know so much was free. Maybe worth seeing if I can bring myself to read it again.
