I like the idea of Silobreaker – work out who people are and what institutions / organisations are to help you pivot around news. I tried asking them about John Oughton who has just got a substantial payoff from OGC.

Judging by the few I read, the page 99 test (choose page 99 of a book and see if you like it) doesn´t apply too well to many new novels and particularly non-novels. I like the general idea, though: ask an author to comment on a snippet of their new book. I like...

As Google focuses on greener computing, IBM says "let´s build a computer that can run the internet as an application". Google has been doing similar things in the past, but I haven´t heard them articulate such a big ambition.
