God hates figs. Genius.

I know Peter overruled “The Law” when he halucinated about pig on blanket (Acts something) but that was definitely animals only (in high school history I suggested in an essay that this was related to him smelling the Roman soldiers’ bacon butties while he was banged up).
Next week at Borough we shall go and overturn the tables of the fig traders!
I might pay to see that.
That is the first time someone has offered money to see one of my high school essays. Oh no, wait…
The essay would be worth something, but the fig toppling would be serious moolah.
We may have to ask politely that they remove other perfectly good middle class dinner party produce produce from the tables before I make my statement. Wouldn’t want to see any pomegranates or Peruvian white asparagus come to harm. Wait I’m having a thought…
Mmmmm figs with gorgonzola and pancetta – how unacceptable is that in the eyes of The Law?!
Depends on which law…
I’m not sure Peter said anything about overturning the ban on combining dairy with pig meat. Let me consult the Apocrypha.
As long as you abstain from food sacrificed to idols you’re probably ok. Any idols in Borough market?.
No, just X-factor at the moment.
Certainly: der Schweinefleischgott. Things stand to get well pagan.
We really need to find a way to imbue wider society with this cod/vital historo-theologo-culinary information. That’s the world I want to live in.
At the very least we need to turn it into a job for me (since we no longer provide adequate funding for sleepy-19th-century-English-town-confirmed-bachelor-vicar-cum-rubbishly-speculative-historian posts). We’ve got an historian, a theologian and a blogger here. How hard can it be?
M and I enjoyed Tim Minchin’s take on peace in Palestine: “you don’t eat pigs; I don’t eat pigs; why don’t we not eat pigs together?”
TM also plays some fine piano…
