Protecting creativity: Copyright and wrong. Good to see that the organ of the free market is recognising the chilling effects of automatic, high-punishment copyright terms. Can’t see anyone changing this, given the absurdly high profile of the creative industries.
Don’t get me wrong, I love creative industries, but their actual pounds and pence contribution to the UK in 2000 was 7.9%. Music was 0.3% of this. Astonishingly, these are still the most up-to-date figures, it seems.
